Launching just in time for summer travel (and after a looooooooong month of being sold out 😅), we’re so excited to share that the Fourth Edition Getaway Bag launches on June 23rd, 2026.
This update is a meaningful one for us.
If you’ve been here for a while, you know that the Getaway Bag has never been a “set it and forget it” product. Since day one, we’ve been listening closely to parents: reading your reviews, answering your emails and DMs, watching how you actually pack, and paying attention to the little things that make travel days easier or harder.
And one thing became very clear:
You’re carrying a lot.
More snacks. More toys. More books. More clothes. More “just in case” items. More of everything that somehow becomes essential the moment you leave the house with kids.
So for this Fourth Edition, our goal was simple: make the Getaway Bag even more comfortable to carry, while keeping the thoughtful organization that made it our signature product in the first place.
Here’s the short version:
- The Getaway Bag is getting upgraded shoulder straps, improved back panel cushioning, a more adjustable sternum strap, and a slightly roomier back compartment.
We’ll explain all of that below, starting with the good stuff:
Fourth Edition Getaway Bag Upgrades

More comfort on heavy travel days
New S-Curve Shoulder Straps
We redesigned the shoulder straps to better follow the natural shape of your body, helping distribute weight more evenly and making the bag more comfortable to carry for longer stretches.
Dual-Density Foam in the Straps and Back Panel
The shoulder straps and back panel now feature two layers of foam beneath a breathable air mesh layer. The goal was to create a better balance of softness and support, especially for the kind of fully packed travel days parents know all too well.
Improved Breathable Back Panel
We also updated the quilted pattern on the back panel to improve comfort and ventilation while the bag is being worn.
Daisy Chain Sternum Strap
We added multiple attachment points along the shoulder straps so the sternum strap can be positioned more precisely and stay more securely in place. This helps improve weight distribution and makes the bag feel more stable when you’re moving through airports, train stations, parking lots, and everywhere in between.
Organization that adapts to real family packing
Roomier Back Compartment
We increased the depth of the back compartment by 1.5 cm, creating a little extra space for books, tablets, laptops, documents, or other travel-day essentials.
Small Interior Updates
We also made a few smaller refinements, including simplifying the interior mesh pocket in the front pocket and updating the laptop sleeve so it once again provides fuller coverage.
These changes all came from the same place: listening to you. Parents told us they were carrying even more than we originally expected, so we focused this edition on making that heavier load feel easier to manage.
Overall, our goal with this 4th edition is to make the Getaway Bag the ideal travel backpack to reduce both your mental load and physical load. We’re confident that these changes make the Getaway Bag not only the most organized diaper, but also the most comfortable diaper bag in the market.
As always, thank you for believing in us, supporting our small business, and helping us make better family travel gear.
Thank you for believing in us,
Gemma + Daniel
