The Getaway Bag

I bought this bag as an everyday diaper bag to carry my baby, toddler and personal items on our daily adventures (I’m a « doesn’t-stay-at-home mom »). When I first got the bag I loved the look, feel, size and comfortable straps. But once I got all my stuff in it felt like it was hard to close the zippers even though the compartments weren’t very full. I got the belt bag that fits into the side pocket but could barely zip the pocket closed even though I only had a couple small items in the belt bag. Luckily, I read one of the emails that came after purchase and they explained that you had to adjust the shelves to make the belt bag fit properly. Once I did that everything fit great! Now I’m sold. I use the compartments differently than advertised but have found a system that works really well. The little lunch bag fits way more than you would think which is great because we’re always packing lunch for my toddler and myself. I use the bottom compartment to hold my buckle baby carrier which is really great, no more straps getting caught on the things in the main compartment like with my last bag. I like that the water bottle compartments fit our big water bottles securely and that the bag is really comfortable to wear. Now that the bag is a little more worn in, I’ve adjusted the shelves and I’ve figured out which compartments should hold what items, I’m very happy with my purchase!

Traveled by plane from FL to CA and couldn’t have done it without this travel diaper bag. 5 stars. Would highly recommend! Going to buy the duffle bag next! Great products!

We travel a lot for work and always drag the kids, 2 1/2 and now a newborn, along for the ride. We’ve made do through the last few years with what we could find out there but after seeing the NR Getaway we tried to tell ourselves we were good but kept coming back to the cart. What pushed me over the finish checkout line was the leather accents. I could see the quality of the leather and when the bag arrived it didn’t disappoint.

To my surprise the hidden gems kept surfacing. The two buckles on the top hood are metal where they are stitched on. Rated stitches it seams (see what I did there?) even. The replaceable half on the bottom is plastic and can be easily sourced if/when it breaks and swapped out.

The compartments encourage smart organization. My only regret is not getting the packing sliders when I bought the bag. They would have been discounted at the time of initial checkout. That ship has sailed.

My advise? Get the bag (don’t skip out on the sidekick, I got that one right). And the packing sliders are a nice touch if you are smart.

NR makes a quality product for a fair price.

As a lifelong carry-on only traveler, having a kiddo meant that we would have to transition to becoming a full on multi-luggage cart family… or so I thought! Thanks to the getaway bag, we’ve been able to successfully travel through airports, trains, cars, etc with only our backpacks (getaway bag and duffel for mom and dad)! I absolutely love the compartmentalization for being able to access specific supplies for a kiddo’s given needs, and appreciate that the sidekick provides easy access to wipes and can be incorporated or slotted into the bag for easy access. The bottom waterproof compartment has been a life saver for storing items after a roadtrip blowout. Was hesitant to buy yet ANOTHER bag, but I so wish this was the first one that I purchased because it has been by far superior and functional!

We got this for a couple of longer trips with our 6 month old. It was hands down the best and most convenient bag we’ve ever used. It was so easy to pop into changing rooms with the side bag and made the flight seamless with accessing his toys and burp cloths etc. Could not be more in love with this bag!
